Emilee Moseley's Annotated Transcript
Below you will find a list of courses I have taken during my time in the Master of Arts in Educational Technology program at Michigan State University.
Fall 2018
This is the final course for the Master of Arts in Educational Technology program at Michigan State University. The final outcome is to have an online portfolio that showcases our work.
Summer 2018
In this course, I discovered a lot about learning. I drew on research to support learning in different settings and different forms of understanding. I also discovered that learning can be helped or hindered by motivation, emotions, and the people in our lives.
This course taught me to be a better consumer of research, and gave me skills to develop a working knowledge of research methodology, strategies, and practices. I also became a better producer of knowledge about teaching and educational practices.
Spring 2018
Applying Educational Technology to Traditions of Practice
Instructors: Alison Keller & Andrew Steinman
This course focused on ways to use a range of technologies to address a range of education-related problems. We explored properties of well-structured, ill-structured, and wicked problems. I was able to examine my“info diet,” collect data that will inform a deeper understanding of the culture of technology integration that surrounds me and explored ways to use technologies to support special learning needs.
This course was different from my other educational technology courses. This course focused on developmental processes, instructional practices, and assessment principles that support effective reading and writing instruction. I also learned about various teaching methods for accommodating the different needs of individual literacy learners.
Fall 2017
In this course we discovered important and engaging technology tools, and elevated that learning to practice using the technology in innovative ways. The main objective of this course focused on TPACK (Technological, pedagogical, and content knowledge). We also reviewed theories of learning and essential mindsets.
CEP 811 was like learning about recycling and remaking but with education. A strong educator can take a tool that's not viewed as something for education, and apply it in an engaging way to foster student learning. We viewed the skills of educational repurposing through support Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and inquiry-based learning. This course was a great introduction to the creative world of being a "maker."
